The Scripture of the Day is:

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Thankful means to be appreciative, grateful and expressing thanks.  Most of us are pretty good at being thankful when things are going good.  But when things get a little rough being thankful goes out the window.  I have to remind myself that I am way behind on praise and thanksgiving.  It’s easier to be thankful when all the bills are paid and the checking account has plenty, your family is in good health, you are top dog at work, the church you attend is wonderful and the joy of the Lord is all over the place and your life is at peace.  But our lives change and suddenly there is not enough money to pay the bills; someone you love has developed an incurable, unstoppable, unexplainable health problem; management changes at work and instead of being appreciated for being a hard working employee, your new boss would rather you worked somewhere else; worship at your church has changed and you look around and wonder where God has gone; peace has exited your life.  Now, the question is are we still thankful?  Because when we lose peace we are not flowing in joy and happiness, so the expression of thankfulness usually departs from our minds.  Soon we become unhappy, grumbling people who wonder if God is going to fix our mess; and we find ourselves constantly asking Him for something and waiting for a blessing to express thanks.  The enemy has pushed and pushed until he has robbed our joy.  Staying in fellowship with God and not allowing the enemy to take our current situation and tread on us takes effort.  The Lord gave us power over all the power of the enemy; and instead of us treading on him we allow him to tread on us.  Open the eyes of your heart and look around and praise God for the good things.  We choose what we see, how we concentrate and if we hold our faith up to God.  We can allow the giants of the land to overwhelm us or we can believe that God will overcome the giants that stand before us.  He is still the same God, He changes not.  His hand made the trees, flowers, flowing water, beautiful sky, sunrise, sunset and the smile of a child; never stop being thankful and praising Him for the works of His hands!

Praise you Lord! Praise you Lord! Praise you Lord! Thank you for your goodness and mercy toward us.  We bless your name and thank you for the day you rescued us from a life of sin; we thank you for JESUS.  Forgive us for complaining and not being thankful.  If we spent this day thanking you we still would be way behind on the praise that is due you.  Thank you for another day and we thank you for where you have brought us from and know that where we would be without you is a lost place.  Thank you; we need you and we realize that you are the way, the truth and the light of this world.  May we stay in fellowship with you and forgive us for complaining.  In Jesus name, AMEN.

P.S.  In these last days that we are living we need to get as much of the word as possible.  If any of you have a ladies group at your church or Bible study that you would like to have a guest speaker, I would be anxious in the Lord to come and speak for you.  You may contact me at this email address.  Maranatha!
